Visit your local hardware store and you’ll probably see a range of security products. Some may even come from brands you recognise. But when it comes to security, hardware stores cater to the low end of the market. They make their money selling a high volume of low-end products. Usually to do-it-yourselfers, and electricians who’ve been asked to install an alarm when they do the lights and ceiling fans.
