This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information when you visit precisionsecurity.com.au (the “site”) or make an enquiry with us. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit an enquiry or request a quote, we collect the details you provide, which may include your name, phone number, email address, property type, suburb, and any information you include in the message/notes field.

Information we collect automatically. When you visit the site we automatically collect technical and usage information, including your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and interactions with the site. We collect this using cookies and similar technologies and the analytics tools described in section 4.

2. How we use your information

  • To respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes, and provide our security products and services;
  • To contact you about your enquiry and, where you have consented, about our services;
  • To operate, secure, and improve our site;
  • To measure and improve the effectiveness of our advertising; and
  • To comply with our legal obligations.

We use your information for the purpose for which it was provided, a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, or where you have consented or the law otherwise permits.

3. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, measure usage, and support our advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.

4. Analytics, advertising and third-party tools

We use the following third-party services, which may collect and process information about your device and your interactions with the site:

  • Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager — to understand how visitors use the site. See Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Google Ads (conversion measurement, remarketing and enhanced conversions) — to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to show relevant ads. When you submit an enquiry, we may share a hashed (irreversible, non-human-readable) version of information such as your email address with Google to measure whether our advertising led to your enquiry (a feature Google calls “enhanced conversions”). The data is transmitted in hashed form and is processed by Google under Google’s Privacy Policy and Business Data Responsibility. You can manage ad personalisation at Google Ad Settings.
  • Microsoft Clarity — we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how you use and interact with our site through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session replay. Clarity may record mouse movements, clicks, scrolls and page interactions; text you type is masked. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
  • Google reCAPTCHA — to protect our forms from spam and abuse. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

5. Disclosure of your information

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • our staff and contractors who help us provide and support our services;
  • the third-party service providers listed in section 4 (analytics, advertising, spam protection) and our email/hosting providers, who handle your information on our behalf;
  • others where required or authorised by law, or with your consent.

Some of these providers (including Google and Microsoft) may store or process information on servers located overseas, including in the United States. Where we disclose information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we follow generally accepted industry standards.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy and to meet our legal obligations, after which we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it. Enquiry records are kept for 8 years.

8. Your rights

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you, and you may withdraw consent to marketing at any time. To do so, contact our Privacy Officer at help@precisionsecurity.com.au

9. Consent

By using the site and submitting an enquiry, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in this policy. Where consent is required for advertising cookies or data sharing — including for visitors from the European Economic Area or United Kingdom — we will seek it through our cookie/consent controls.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page.
